FDBS takes great pride in working to preserve and restore historic buildings. Specifically, Chris Fagan has a great deal of experience with historic preservation. He started his career interning at the Preservation Society of Newport County. He then went on to work for 3 years in preservation architecture at Newport Collaborative Architects.

 

Over the past 15 years, Chris has facilitated the development of multiple historic tax credit projects writing numerous National Parks Services historic nomination papers. This process has added multiple properties to the National Register of Historic Properties. Chris served on the both Newport Historic District Commission for over 5 years and the Doris Duke Preservation Award committee for 2 years.

 

Most recently, in 2019, Fagan Design Build Studio won a Doris Duke Preservation Award for its restoration of the stone barn carriage house 23 Hammersmith Farm Road in Newport.
